Trauma: Assassinations
There have been many assassinations, but perhaps none stranger than that of the Russian Rasputin. Repeated attempts to kill him failed until he finally drowned.
Another famous Russian who was assassinated was Trotsky. It seems that Trotsky had published an article accusing Stalin of having Lenin poisoned. After this Stalin had Trotsky killed in Mexico, where he was in asylum.
This photo of Arlen Specter is from his website. It shows him delivering a commencement speech. Specter was a lawyer for the Warren Commission. Specter is infamous for the "magic" bullet theory. This theory postulates that a single bullet can make right angle turns, go through two people, and come out with only minor deformation with no traces of blood, flesh, or clothing on it. In reality the bullet was probably planted on a stretcher by Ruby, who was a key figure in the conspiracy.
This clipart from the Alexander Palace website (about Russia) shows Prince Felix Yussupov, who admitted involvement in the murder of Rasputin. This murder in 1916 did not trigger the Russian Revolution, but it did show serious corruption in the Russian royalty. The Russian Revolution was a terrible bloodbath in which the Tsar, his family, and even his horse, were killed. Lenin was the main leader of the Revolution.
The photo of Col. L. Fletcher Prouty was taken from his website. Prouty served in the military during the 1963 coup d'etat. He felt that a massive conspiracy involving the CIA was involved. This author (Olson) is strongly in favor of the CIA, but also feels that the CIA has made serious errors in the past (including a failure to stop the Sept. 11, 2001 disaster). Prouty's views are largely consistent with views expressed in the book "Double Cross", which also implicates the mafia.
Shown here is Prouty's CD-rom, which is also taken from his website. Prouty, Mark Lane, and Jim Garrison (now deceased) all had similar views on the JFK assassination. Lane published a number of books including Rush to Judgement, Plausible Denial, etc. Lane also published a very interesting book on the Martin Luther King assassination called "Code Name Zorro". Lane suspected the FBI of involvement in the King assassination, including J. Edgar Hoover. No real investigation was done by the government in either the JFK, RFK, or Martin Luther King assassinations, all with Hoover in power.
This photo is from prouty.org, Col. L. Fletcher Prouty's website. On the left is Allen Dulles, who was head of the CIA until he was fired (supposedly "retired") by JFK after the Bay of Pigs fiasco. Dulles, who probably hated JFK, was appointed to the Warren Commission by Johnson. Second from the left is General Lansdale, who Prouty feels was involved in the coup d'etat. Next is General Cabell.

This picture of Rasputin comes from the Alexander Palace Time Machine website. Rasputin was killed when the Tsar was still in power (before the Russian Revolution).
Shown here is Leon Trotsky in Stockholm in 1932. He was born in 1879 and was killed in 1940. Trotsky had been an ally of Lenin but became at odds with Stalin.
Shown here is a photo of Pope John Paul I, who died suddenly when he appeared to be in perfect health. His death was in 1978, when there was a scandal in the Vatican Bank. It appears that the mafia was using the Vaticn Bank for international money laundering. According to Yallop in the book "In God's Name," he was poisoned because he was about to clean house in the Vatican Bank. The Vatican does not do autopsies on Popes, and the killer probably knew this. It may have been an inside job.
Shown here is a photo of Johnny Roselli, who was murdered in 1976 after revealing cooperation between the CIA and the Mob. It seems that there was a plot to assassinate Castro. The photo is from the "prima facie" website. George Bush senior was director of the CIA from 1976 to 1977. Sam Giancana was also murdered, just when he was about to testify to the Senate Intelligence Committee. Giancana had never talked in his life, but somebody didn't want to take any chances. Giancana was shot in his home in Oak Park, Illinois.
Shown here is FBI director J. Edgar Hoover, who died when in apperantly perfect health during the Nixon Administration. This was not questioned because Hoover was old. However, there was a very strong theory that Hoover was keeping secret files on Nixon because Nixon wanted him to retire. After Hoover's death the files were destroyed. This is a Machiavellian theory, but such theories are sometimes correct.
