I never tire of photos of famous scientists and other celebrities. One of my favorite sources is a Swedish site about the Nobel Prize. This site has photos of all the Nobel prize winners.
Of course photography was not available prior to the 19th century, and many great scientists worked before photography. I have included some drawings of them.
Dr. Harvey of England discovered the circulation of the blood. This was prior to the invention of photography.
This is Madam Curie, who discovered radium. Unfortunately she also discovered radiation sickness (the hard way). She died because of her work.
Here is a drawing by Golgi of the hippocampus impregnated by his stain. Golgi was from Pavia.
This is a thumbnail sketch of Louis Pasteur, a 19th century scientist who made great contributions to microbiology.
Shown here is Jose Delgado in 1956. Delgado was a brilliant Hispanic neuroscientist who planted electrodes in the brain.

Shown here is Lord Lister, who was a British pioneer in the use of antiseptics.
Shown here is Golgi, a brilliant Italian scientist who studied the nervous system on a microscopic level. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1906 along with Cajal.
Here is a photo of Camillo Golgi and his wife when he was older.
Shown here is Dr. Franz Kallman in 1960. Kallman studied identical twins and conclusively demonstrated that schizophrenia is genetic. This strongly supports the theories of Linus Pauling.
Shown here is Byron Leach in 1956. Leach, along with Harold Lief, was a member of Heath's Tulane team that discovered "taraxein", a toxin in the blood of schizophrenics.
