Journals About Psychiatry
Some journals have been mentioned on other pages in this website, including a brilliant Russian journal discussed on the Russian Research page. There is a brilliant French journal about the brain called "Encephale", which is a French word for "brain". The Dutch publishing company Elsevier prints many brilliant journals, including Biological Psychiatry.
In the May 2003 issue of "The American Journal of Psychiatry" there is a brilliant article about amyloid plaques found in Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia. Since amyloid is like starch, a complex carbohydrate, this suggests a partial failure of glucose metabolism in the brain in the two diseases.
This cover shows flourescent neuritic plaques mentioned above reported by Religa et al.
Shown here is Psychiatric Bulletin, a British journal published by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. The May 2003 cover is shown.
Shown here is Schizophrenia Bulletin, a government publication which is in the public domain. The cover is from the NIMH website, which is www.nimh.nih.gov.
This is another Elsevier publication. The cover was taken from the Elsevier website. Elsevier publishes a wide variety of scientific books and journals of high quality.
Shown here is Brain Research, a journal published by Elsevier.

This is the May 2003 cover of the British Journal of Psychiatry.
Shown here is yet another British psychiatry journal, also published by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
This journal is published by Elsevier. The cover is from the Elsevier website, which contains a great deal of scientific information.
This cover of The Journal of Neuropsychiatry was taken from the American Psychiatric Press website. The APP publishes the journal.
This is another Elsevier journal described on the ScienceDirect website.
