Bad Guys and Good Guys
The government has many roles in matters of medical research, healthcare, and forensics. Once in a while a government official becomes a patient. An example of this is the fact that former President Ronald Reagan has Alzheimer's disease. Sometimes the role of the government is not always good. According to The Crime Library website, both Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon knew in advance about the JFK asassination on Nov. 22, 1963. J. Edgar Hoover may have known in advance about the Martin Luther King asassination in Memphis in 1968. There were also issues between Linus Pauling and the government. Pauling battled the Eisenhower Administration over nuclear testing in the atmosphere, which Pauling correctly claimed was causing serious pollution. It was not until JFK was elected in 1960 that the government recognized that Pauling was right.

This photo, from Specter's website, shows Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter. Because of seniority, Specter has great power. In 1964 Specter was a lawyer for the Warren Commission, which was supposed to investigate the asassination of JFK. In reality no real investigation was done by the government. The real investigations were later done by Democrat Mark Lane and Democrat Jim Garrison, the district attorney for New Orleans. It seems that veteran Lee Harvey Oswald was from New Orleans, which gave Garrison justification to investigate. Garrison thought that the plot was hatched in New Orleans.

Shown here is Carlos Marcello, who was the godfather of New Orleans in 1963. Marcello is thought to have been, along with Sam "Momo" Giancana (the godfather of Chicago), Jimmy Hoffa (the godfather of Detroit), and Santos Trafficante (the godfather of Miami), one of the key planners of the JFK asassination. Like Giancana and Hoffa, Marcello hated the Kennedys. This was due to a crackdown on the mafia by Robert Kennedy, who was Attorney General.

Two good guys are shown here. Senator McLellan and lawyer Robert Kennedy both went after the Mob. McLellan, like Estes Kefauver previously, held hearings on organized crime. Kennedy wrote a book about the Mob entitled "The Enemy Within". Hoffa never forgave Kennedy for his role in the hearings.

Shown here is Jimmy Hoffa, a good friend of Marcello. Marcello was suspected in the JFK assassination, the RFK assassination, and the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King. Hoffa, unlike Marcello, was himself assassinated in the 70's. Hoffa was thought to have requested the assassination of JFK. Nixon pardoned Hoffa in the 70's for a different crime.

Tony Pro started off as a friend of Hoffa. Tony was another mobster who was a Teamsters official. When Hoffa disappeared, Tony was suspected. Hoffa's body was never found.

This Sicilian letter depicts the Black Hand, known also as the mafia. The mafia started in Sicily and moved to the US. These people benefited from the 1964 work of Arlen Specter. It was the mafia who asassinated JFK, with help from the CIA, FBI, and certain politicians. One theory is that rich Texas oilmen, including H. L. Hunt, bankrolled the conspiracy. These oilmen were friends of Lyndon Johnson. The military faked the autopsy of JFK.

This is Frank Costello, who controlled much of the crime in New York City. Of course, there were gang wars. Costello does not appear to have had any role in the conspiracy.
|
Shown here is another good guy, Senator Estes Kefauver. Estes was a Democrat from Tennessee. In 1951 Estes held hearings on organized crime. He investigated Carlos Marcello and also the Teamsters Union. He found the Teamsters to be corrupt, infiltrated by organized crime. Later the Teamsters retaliated against the Democrats and became the only union to favor the Republicans, including Nixon.

This photo of Nixon is from the Library of Congress. Nixon was elected in 1968 after Lyndon Johnson chose not to seek reelection. Hubert Humphrey, perhaps tainted by Johnson's support, lost the election. Johnson had been found to have been associated with shady charcters including Billie Sol Estes, Bobby Baker, etc. On top of that there were serious problems in the War in VIetnam, which was not going well. Nixon pardoned Hoffa, who tried to take over the Teamsters again.

This photo of John F. Kennedy is from the Library of Congress. John was assassinated on November 22, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. He was the only Catholic President of the United States.
